Purchasing a property during COVID-19?

If the property you wish to purchase is tenanted, there may be a few things to consider


Under normal circumstances, you could request the property be vacant if either you or your family member plan to move in (provided proper notice was served)


Now things are different, the Government of BC has declared a state of emergency and evictions (notice to end tenancy) are not allowed for any reason during this time, therefore you may not get to move into your future home on possession day as planned :(


On the other hand, if you are an investor, this may actually provide you with an excellent opportunity to increase your portfolio, many purchasers are steering away from this complicated scenario freeing up inventory for the savvy purchaser
